TATTOOS CONTEST AND RULES
When signing up for the contests, please ensure your tattoo falls within the category or categories you are entering.
- You may enter a tattoo or tattoos into multiple categories over the weekend.
- Fresh tattoos are accepted in all categories. Healed tattoos are accepted in all categories except Tattoo of the Day and Best of Show.
- Tattoo of the Day and Best of Show tattoos must be done at the convention.
- Best of Day tattoos must be completed all in the same day.
- Multiple-day tattoos can be entered into any category except Best of Day. You can enter multiple-day tattoos into Best of Show.
- If you are entering multiple tattoos into a category, please inform each judge to evaluate them separately so they don’t think they are all part of one tattoo or miss any of the tattoos you entered.
BEST OF SHOW
- Must be done at the convention and can be either a same-day or multiple-day tattoo.
- The tattoo can be any style: color, black & gray, or a combination of both.
- Best of Show can only be done by one artist—no collaborations.
Category Details
Black & Grey (Medium and Large):
Any style, as long as it is in black and gray.
Color (Medium and Large):
Any style, as long as it is in color.
Best Back/Front Piece:
Any style (black & gray, color, or both), but must have at least 80% coverage of the chest or back.
Best Sleeve (Arm or Leg):
Any style, but must have at least 80% coverage on a leg or arm, in black & gray or color.
Realistic:
Can be black & gray, color, or both. Must be in realism style, such as photorealism or hyperrealism.
Geometric:
Can be black & gray, color, or both. Must feature geometric shapes, patterns, or designs (e.g., mandalas). It can include or exclude shading and linework.
Collaboration:
Any style (black & gray, color, or both), done by two or more artists on one tattoo or multiple tattoos.
Tattoo of the Day:
Any style. Must be done at the convention and completed in one day. Acceptable in either color or black & gray.
